Electric Motors has been founded by Faraday at early 1980’s. An electric motor basically converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Most electric motors operate through the interaction between the motor's magnetic field and electric current in a wire winding to generate Laplace force in the form of torque applied on the motor's shaft. An electric generator is mechanically identical to an electric motor but operates inversely, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy.

Electric Motors are produced both in AC and DC, but lately, starting from 1980’s AC motors started to be produced and manufactured more. We also have Synchronous and Asynchronous motors. To explain further: Synchronous motor is a motor whose rotor speed and the speed of the stator magnetic field is equal. Asynchronous motor is a motor whose rotor rotates at the speed less than the synchronous speed. So, briefly, we can say that Synchronous motor runs at a fixed speed at a given frequency not depending on the load. However, the rate of an asynchronous motor reduces with the increase in the load.
